Y Branch Formula:
“Y branch” typically refers to a type of pipe fitting that allows a single pipe to split into two branches in a Y-shaped configuration.
It’s used for directing fluid or gas flow in different directions.
y branch formula:
LONG CUT = Half OD ÷ Tan(Y degree)
SHORT CUT = Half OD × Tan(Y½ Degree)
here i will show you to make y branch in 10″ pipe.
So, 10″ Pipe OD is 273 mm.
half OD = 136.5 mm
and we are making it at 45 degree.
So Y = 45°
Y Branch Formula
L.C = 136.5 ÷ Tan(45°) = 136 mm
S.C = 136.5 × Tan(45°/2) = 56 mm
after calculating both Long and Short Cutback.
we will start to mark in pipe.
Let See Marking Procedure:
First of all divide it in 4 Center line. and at top center line measure the Long Cutback Value and mark it.
next at bottom Center Line measure the Short Cutback Value and mark it.
same marking procedure you have to follow in one more pipe. total you have to two pipe which will be used for branch.

next we will mark for header pipe the marking plan will be first of all divide in 4 cl and then at top and bottom center line measure the short cutback value and mark remaining center will be marked 0 and match all the points of mark and cut it.
