1. FLAT FACE FLANGE

Flat Face Flange does not have a raised face or  like a ring type joint flange is called a FLAT FACE FLANGE.

The flat surface remains in full contact with the entire surface for the gasket. Generally, gaskets are made from nonmetallic materials such as Graphite, Rubber, Teflon.

2. WELDING NECK FLANGE

Welding Neck Flange is a fitting with a protruding rim around the perimeter. Usually machined from a forging, this type of flange is usually welded to a pipe.

The rim has a series of holes drilled into it, which allow the flange to be bolted to another flange!

3.SLIP ON FLANGE

Slip on Flange slips over a pipe and is welded on both the inside and outside to increase strength and prevent leakage.
It is fitted into the outer face of a pipe.

Much preferred by engineers as compared to weld neck flange due to lower cost

4.RAISED FACE FLANGE

Raised Face Flange The flange is the most common type used in process plant applications, and is easy to identify!

This is known as a raised face because the surface of the gasket is raised above the face of the bolting circle.

5. SOCKET WELDING FLANGE

SOCKET WELDING FLANGE are generally used on small size of high pressure pipe!

These pipe flanges are attached by inserting the pipe into the socket end and fillet weld around the top!

This allows for a smoother bore and better flow of the fluid or gas inside the pipe.

6.BLIND FLANGE

Blind flange is used as a dummy in any pipeline.

So that whatever material is inside the pipe, it cannot go ahead.
