we will use two different diameter pipe one is header pipe and another is branch pipe.
First of all we will measure the outer diameter of header pipe. and will check id of branch pipe.
here we are using 8 inch pipe for header and 6″ pipe for branch.
so, 8″ Pipe OD = 219 mm (Header)
half OD = 109.5 mm
and 6″ Pipe ID = 84 mm (Branch)
we are making it in 8 center line
so first of all will mark 8 center line in branch pipe
distance between center lines = 8″ pipe OD × π / 8 cl
219 × 3.142 / 8 = 86.01 mm for center line.
next we will calculate 45° Cutback
Header Half OD – √(Header Half OD² – (Sin(θ) × Branch Half ID)²)
109.5 – √(109.5² – (Sin(45°) × 50.5)²)
5.98 mm. Ans

then we will calculate 90° Cutback
Header Half OD – √(Header Half OD² – (Sin(θ) × Branch Half ID)²)
109.5 – √(109.5² – (Sin(90°) × 50.5)²)
