These non metallic material offer some great advantage over metallic piping but also have some limitation.
PVC / CPVC :
- PVC – Polyvinyl Chloride
- CPVC – Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (higher strength at elevated temperatures than PVC)
- Tough and exceptionally resistant to chemical attack.
- PVC , CPVC required protection from ultraviolet exposure if installed outdoor.
- Start softening when subjected to high temperature.
- Pipe are manufactured by extrusion process.
- Fitting , flanges and valves are manufactured by injection molding.
- Has many application in industries and in home water piping.
